The Bradley residence is a property brought by Shane and Wendy from a developer, the developer installed a range of cables and in ceiling speakers throughout the house, I was contacted by Shane to come and have a look at what he had and what potentially he could achieve. The house had some basic in ceiling speakers in the Kitchen, Dining, Pool, Formal and Family rooms that we cabled back to a central location in the laundry, after further inspection we found the developer had run some basic cables to TV locations around the house, This included Cat5 and Coax cables that can be used for TV, Data and Phones, this was going to be a great help. As this was a finished house that was both multi levelled and also a block running new wires etc. was not possible.

Once I had an idea of what cables went were I sat down with Shane and Wendy to discuss what it was that they wanted to achieve with this part of the project. After the talk I went away to come up with a Plan of attack and a quote, Shane loved his music and also wanted to use his existing Sonos system to access all his music from his iPads & iPhones.

What we did - We ended up replacing all the in ceiling speakers with a larger 8" HiFi grade speakers and installing an Axium multi room to drive all the speakers, This would give the family total control over all the zones including how loud they wanted to listen and what they were listening to in each of the areas.

The Family room was an area they spent a lot of time in as it was connected to the kitchen and dining, A TV was to be install on the wall with an Apple TV, DVD and My Sky HDi and a pair of on wall speakers and a Mini 8" Subwoofer.

The Formal lounge was to receive the same treatment as the family room, These two areas needed to be identical as they are seen together although this area received a larger 55" LED TV they look the same. The Theatre was another area that was to receive some attention, we decided to install Panasonic Premiere 65" Plasma along with a Bluray Player, Xbox360 & My Sky HDi.

After all this was completed it was time to install and setup the Control system, I had showed Shane earlier the iPad / iPhone system the we do and he loved it, This would allow him to easily control the entire house from any of his multiple devices weather this is his wife’s iPhone 4 or their daughters iPad they could all control things easily. With simple activity based icons like "Watch Sky" Watch a Movie" it was easy for the whole family to use including their parents that house sit for them. What the iPad / iPhone control system did for them was make a complex simple for all to use. To find out more about this Click Here.

The Parker requirements were simple, big and simple, Chris contacted me regarding a big screen he was looking at purchasing, After some discussion I proposed the Panasonic 60" Plasma Panel as the name suggests this panel is just that it does not have a TV Tuner built it it was made to just display a source i.e. Sky or Bluray etc. The reason I suggested this panel is it has much better performance than the consumer panels do as they put all the time and money into the panel itself and not on the normal consumer bits and pieces.

Chris also liked his music but did not want to go for the surround sound option, So i suggested we install Jamo's Concert speaker the C605 these speakers are the baby floor standers in the range but they outperform most other speakers in its price bracket and above, we coupled this together with a Home Theatre Receiver Apple TV and My Sky HDi. Another requirement of Chris was he didn’t want to see the equipment so we install the equipment around the corner ready for a future bookshelf yet to be made. I installed an IR kit so that Chris could point his remotes at the TV and still control the other equipment that was hidden away.

Marshal Music Lounge, Sean contacted to install his beloved music system, Sean had been collecting bits and pieces over the years and the time had come to put it all together. The system included a Surround Pre Processor a 2 Channel integrated amp for the front left and right speakers and 3 x mono block amps to drive the Centre and Surround speakers.

It also included a record player and some more modern quipment like My Sky HDi and Twin Freeview recorders and a Bluray player. We used custom interconnects to Connect all the equipment and Kordz HDMI  cables for the picture. At the time Sean hadn't chosen speaker stands but the temporary polystyrene stands have since been replaced with sand filled speaker stands
